The University of South Wales was established in 2013 following the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. Both the institutions that have come together to create the University of South Wales have a rich and varied history and can trace their roots back more than 180 years.

About the University
South Wales is a vocationally focused university, preparing students to support key industries now, and in the future. South Wales presents a wide range of programmes in Creative Arts: Design, Fashion, Film, Media and Communication, Drama and Music, Cultural and Creative Studies. Cardiff is home to a vibrant creative community, with BBC, Pinewood Studios and a wealth of creative agencies, which creates a huge potential for employment for South Wales graduates.
